The Ihsan Standard for verified giving · draft 0.1

How every sacrifice is proven.

This is the standard every Naseekah order meets, written so any charity can adopt it. It will be published and maintained by Ihsan Standard, which can certify organizations that meet it.

Photos and videos alone no longer prove anything: they can be generated, edited or sent to many donors at once. Proof has to come from how a capture is made, who signs it, and whether it can be changed afterwards.

AN IHSAN STANDARD PROJECT · PROOF FOR THE UMMAH ·إحسانSTANDARD

What the standard requires

  1. Capture in a verified app

Evidence is taken live in an app on a phone that has passed hardware attestation. Files from the gallery or generated images can't be submitted. Each photo's fingerprint (SHA-256) is computed and signed by a key that never leaves the phone's security chip.

  2. A code from that moment

Each step starts with a fresh code from the server, valid for 20 minutes. The signed photo carries it, and the farmer writes it on a board in frame, so nothing can be recorded in advance or reused for another order.

  3. Time and place

Each capture records the time and the phone's location, and flags simulated locations. For an udhiya the sacrifice must fall inside the valid days, after the local Eid prayer.

  4. The same animal throughout

A numbered, tamper-evident seal goes on the animal on camera. It must appear intact at the weigh-in and the sacrifice, and the markings are compared.

  5. Several independent signers

The farm, a local verifier, the NGO that distributes and the families who receive each sign their own step. No single party can produce the whole record.

  6. A record that can't be rewritten

Every step is added to a hash-chained log. Each hour the log is timestamped by an independent authority and anchored to Bitcoin, so any later change would be detectable by anyone.

  7. Proof anyone can check

Each order has a public page with every step, its checks and fingerprints. Recipients' identities stay private; graphic footage stays hidden unless the buyer asks.

  8. Honest labels

Claims a farm makes about itself are shown as self-reported until an auditor checks them. A failed check holds the order for review instead of marking it complete.

What it doesn't claim

Anchoring proves a record wasn't changed after it was made, not that it was honest when made. That's why the standard relies on live codes, seals, separate signers and spot audits together, and says so plainly.
